Terms of Service

    1. Data Controllers and Clinical Services

    Medic World Ltd (company number 16139723), trading as ChatDoc Health, operates the digital platform and is the data controller for website registration, account administration, platform security and UK platform testing.

    For Cyprus-based medical consultations provided independently by Dr Thanos Emmanuel, Dr Emmanuel is the healthcare provider and data controller for the clinical information processed in delivering medical care, including consultation records, clinical assessments and prescriptions. Dr Emmanuel is registered with the Cyprus Medical Register (Registration Number: 8922) and provides consultations from Omirou 7, Aglangia, Nicosia 2121, Cyprus.

    For Cyprus medical services, patients enter into a separate clinical contract with Dr Thanos Emmanuel personally, not Medic World Ltd. For account access, digital platform and administrative services, patients contract separately with Medic World Ltd. Medic World Ltd is not the provider of these independent Cyprus medical services.

    When Medic World Ltd processes clinical information solely on Dr Emmanuel’s instructions, a written Article 28 GDPR agreement is required between them before that processing. It must cover instructions, confidentiality, security, sub-processors, rights requests, breach assistance, deletion or return and audits. This notice does not confirm that the agreement has been signed.

    Patients may contact doctor@chatdochealth.com regarding privacy requests. The responsible controller will handle each request in accordance with applicable data protection law.

    ChatDoc is a medical service based in the EU and is not currently live in the UK. Medic World Ltd is responsible for operating the digital platform; Dr Thanos Emmanuel independently provides the Cyprus-based clinical consultations described above and is responsible for their clinical assessments, medical care and prescriptions. UK access is for platform testing only: no diagnosis, treatment or prescription is provided to UK users while UK licensing and CQC regulation are awaited.

    2. Eligibility

    To use our service, you must:

    • Registration is available from age 16. Medical care is generally for adults aged 18 and over. Patients aged 16–17 may receive care only for acne, skin infections, eczema, hyperhidrosis, insect bites, dandruff and birth control, subject to clinical suitability and applicable law. Other conditions and treatments remain 18+. UK access is testing only, not medical care.
    • Be resident in the EU to receive a consultation and treatment; UK residents may take part in testing only
    • Have a non-emergency health concern
    • Provide accurate and complete information

    3. Service Limitations

    ChatDoc is not an emergency service. Call 999 (UK) or 112 (EU) for life-threatening emergencies or 111 for urgent non-emergency help. Do not wait for an online reply.:

    • Rapidly spreading rash with fever
    • Signs of severe allergic reaction
    • Infected wounds with red streaks or spreading redness
    • Severe burns or trauma

    For live EU care, consultations are based on the information and photographs you provide and clinical decisions are made by Dr Emmanuel. UK testing submissions do not receive clinical review and are not medical consultations.

    4. Consultation Process

    For live EU consultation requests only:

    • Agree to provide truthful and complete information
    • Understand that Dr Emmanuel personally provides clinical review; platform testing and AI output are not a medical consultation
    • Understand that the consultation is advisory in nature
    • Accept that prescriptions and delivery are available only where a doctor considers treatment safe and appropriate and local rules permit fulfilment
    • UK testing submissions do not receive clinical review and are not requests for medical care. No diagnosis, treatment or prescription is provided. Do not rely on AI output or await a doctor response. In an emergency call 999 (UK) or 112 (EU); in the UK contact NHS 111 for urgent non-emergency advice.

    5. Fees and Payment

    The consultation fee is £24.99, payable in advance through our secure payment provider (Stripe). Prices may be subject to change, but any changes will not affect consultations already paid for. The fee includes clinician review and live doctor chat, not medication. Medication is charged separately; delivery, if selected, is an additional £3.50.

    6. Refund Policy

    We offer refunds in the following circumstances:

    • If we are unable to provide a clinical assessment due to insufficient image quality
    • If our service is unavailable and we cannot complete your consultation
    • If you cancel before your case is assigned to a clinician

    7. Intellectual Property

    All content on our platform, including text, graphics, logos, and software, is the property of ChatDoc and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

    8. Limitation of Liability

    Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

    Medic World Ltd operates the digital platform with reasonable care and skill. Dr Thanos Emmanuel independently provides the Cyprus-based medical consultations with reasonable care and skill, subject to applicable professional and regulatory obligations.

    We do not guarantee any particular clinical outcome. Where permitted by applicable law, we are not responsible for losses that are not reasonably foreseeable or that arise from circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

    Your statutory consumer rights and rights relating to professional negligence remain unaffected.

    9. Privacy

    Your use of our service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data.

    10. Changes to Terms

    We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new terms on our website. Your continued use of our service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

    11. Governing Law

    The separate platform-services contract with Medic World Ltd, including UK testing access, is governed by the laws of England and Wales. The separate clinical-services contract with Dr Thanos Emmanuel personally for Cyprus-based medical care is governed by the laws of the Republic of Cyprus. These choices do not remove mandatory consumer, data-protection or healthcare rights, including any protections or court rights applicable in your country of habitual residence.
